The foundation of loving relationships are commonly thought to be communication, love, respect, trust, compatibility, and chemistry.
After 20 years of working with individuals and couples, I see a different perspective o what the foundation of a loving and healthy relationship really consists of… without these 5 pillars… the more popular ones are harder to keep alive and well.
For example, without feeling safe in a relationship, do you think communication can be open and healthy? Or without fun, is compatibility a nonissue?
It takes these 5 pillars to have a loving relationship… and finding someone to be with where you can both have and share these pillars with will help you have a long lasting and loving relationship.
If you’re in a relationship now, and find that some or all of these pillars are lacking, you can work with your partner to build upon these pillars today.
Let me facilitate that conversation and let’s put these foundations in place today.
What do you think about these pillars? Agree/Disagree? I’d love to hear your perspective.
