Healing Relationships From the Inside Out: A Relationship Podcast for Women

For you if you love him and you’re so tired of being the one who tries.

Welcome. I’m Dr. Dar Hawks, and this is a relationship podcast for women, whether you’re dating, married, or years into a long-term partnership. I help women who do everything for their relationship feel loved, cared for, secure, and like they matter again, without waiting for him to change or years of couples therapy.

Maybe you’re here after another evening of rehearsing what to say, saying it as kindly as you could, and still going to bed feeling unheard. Or you’ve bought the book, saved the boundary scripts, done every step of the course, and by the weekend it all felt the same again. You’re not doing it wrong, and you’re not asking for too much. Each episode is an honest conversation about what’s really going on between the two of you, and what can actually change, starting this week.

Is This Relationship Podcast for You?

You love him. You show up for this relationship every single day. And lately you’ve started wondering why it never seems to be enough.

Maybe some of this sounds familiar:

  • You’re always the one trying, and nothing really changes no matter how many times you do.
  • He shuts down the second you say something.
  • You got better at communicating, so why do you still feel unheard?
  • You do the remembering, the planning, and the checking in, and it rarely comes back to you.
  • You keep having the same argument, just with different words.
  • Part of you wonders, “Am I asking for too much?”
  • You’ve been told you’re too sensitive, and you’ve started to believe it.

If you heard yourself in any of that, you’re in the right place. You don’t have to be in crisis to listen, and you don’t have to have it all figured out. Come as you are.

What You’ll Hear in Each Episode

Twice a month, we talk honestly about what’s really going on underneath the thing that keeps happening between you and your partner. Plenty of podcasts about relationships hand you another list of tips. This one starts with what you need, so the tips finally have something to work with.

Every episode puts words to what you’ve been feeling, helps you understand why it keeps happening without blaming you or him, and shares something real you can try that same week.

How to Feel Heard When You’ve Already Said It Clearly

Why he can walk away hearing something you never said, and what helps your words actually get through to him. Start with this episode on communication.

How to Say What You Need Without Feeling Guilty

How to say what you need out loud, even when part of you feels guilty for wanting it. Explore your emotional needs in a relationship.

How to Stop Saying Yes When You Mean No

Boundaries that protect your time and your energy without feeling like you’re pushing him away, and what to do when the yes comes out before you’ve even thought about it.

How to Stop Arguing About the Same Thing

What’s underneath the argument you keep having, and how to get through a disagreement without shutting down, blowing up, or going to bed feeling worse.

How to Rebuild Trust and Closeness

What helps both of you feel safe enough to be honest again,
after months or years of
tiptoeing around each other
and choosing every word so carefully.

How to Heal a Relationship When Nothing Else Has Worked

For when you’ve finished the courses, tried the scripts, and watched real life snap right back. Listen to how to heal a relationship when nothing else has worked.

This Is Not the Advice You Have Heard Before

We Start With You, Not Your Partner: Most relationship advice focuses on fixing the other person or improving how you respond to them. We start somewhere different: understanding what you actually need and why it has been so hard to get there.

No Labels, No Diagnoses, No Shame: You will never hear words like “codependent” or “toxic” on this show. We do not label you or your partner. We look at patterns, not people, and we approach every one of them with compassion.

Practical, Not Theoretical: Every episode gives you something you can actually use. A shift in how you communicate. A new way to think about what is happening. A tool you can try that same day.

Grounded in 25+ Years of Real Work: This is not advice from someone who read a book about relationships. This is not a relationship healing podcast for women built on theory. It comes from more than two decades of working with women and couples through every stage of love, loss, and rebuilding.

Meet Dr. Dar Hawks

Relationship and Communication Healer

I’m Dr. Dar Hawks, and for more than 25 years I’ve worked with women and couples on what’s really happening underneath the arguments, the silences, and the conversations that keep going nowhere.

My sessions don’t follow a script. We talk about what’s actually going on for you, and many women tell me something settles in their body, not just in their thinking. They leave feeling clearer, calmer, and more hopeful, often after one conversation.

I created the Emotional Safety First Method and the 5 Sovereign Relationship Needs, and this podcast is where I share both, one honest conversation at a time. If you’d like to know how I work one on one, you can read about it on my Work With Me page.

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out by Yourself

Wherever you are today, there’s a small next step that fits. You can start with the quiz or listen to an episode. And if you’d like to talk it through, I offer a free conversation, just you and me. It’s private, and he doesn’t have to be part of it.

You do not need to sort all this out alone. And you do not need years to feel different about your relationship.
